Without an account, the only thing MapSwitch stores is the short links you create — and those auto-delete after 7 days (up to 20 per week). Opening or converting links stores nothing; neutral /o share links carry the place in the URL itself; and your preferred app stays only in this browser (localStorage), with no tracking cookies. Short links like maps.app.goo.gl are expanded server-side against a strict allow-list of map domains, and coordinates are never logged.
With an account
If you sign in, we store your email, a hashed password and/or your OAuth and passkey identifiers, your saved short links (with their coordinates and label), and your app preference — in a self-hosted SQLite database with encrypted off-site backups. Deleting your account removes all of it. Session cookies are httpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax. We still never log coordinates and use no third-party trackers.
